WARDEN’S COURT, CROMWELL.
Friday, September 11. (Before Mr Warden Simpson.)
Application for a lease by the Lucknow Gold Mining Company. Objected to by Mr Thomas M’Morran, of Bendigo, for that the ground was applied for on the 21st July, 1874, and was not marked off until the 20th of the same mouth, and then only as an ordinary quartz claim. On the 10th ultimo additional pegs wore put in to make up the ten acres applied for, and which encroaches on a lease previously occupied, and applied for by the objector. And further : That since the Coinpanymade the application the pegs were, on the 12th ultimo -shifted, and the boundaries of the ground applied for altered, and no fresh notices wore posted on tho ground, such proceedings being irregular, and not in accordance with the Regulations. The legal manager stated that ho was not aware of any objection being laid, and ho was taken by surprise, and would therefore ask for an adjournraen t. The Warden said ho would adjourn the hearing for a month. John Bull Gold Mining Company applied for and obtained protection for 90 days.
