General Washington,s family bible is advertised for sale. It is in three large quarto volumes, and the public are gravely informed that it was presented to General Washington by its author. Whenever you see a smail boy emerging from the house with his left arm shading his eyes and the other smoothing the basement of his trousers, it is safe to arrive at the conclusion that he has been chasing the boot-jack around his father.
