CLYDE SCHOOL.

The usual half-yearly meeting of the Civile School Committee was held at the Library on Wednesday afternoon last, the Bth inst. Present : The Rev J. Jones, and Messrs Wilson, Hazlett, M’Oonnoehie, Cambridge, and Christophers' The Rev. J. Jones occupied the chair. MINUTES. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCS, Letter from the Schoolmaster, dated February 7, and from Inspector of Schools, dated 18th of February, were read and received. DONATIONS. The Clerk acknowledged the receipt of £8 11 s. fid., amount realised for a gun presented by Mr Stevens, and £l3 Cs. Cd., net proceeds of the couconcert given by the Choral Society. SCTIOODMASTEK’S RETORTS. The ScHoolmaster’s reports for the past six nunths were read and received. They showed that tire income from fees was insullieient to meet the ordinary expenses connected with the conduct of the School. On the motion of Mr Hazlett, seconded by Mr Cambridge, it was unanimously resolved, That the rates of fees be increased; and on the motion of Mr Hazlett, seconded by Mr Christophers, the following scale, . suggested by the Schoolmaster, was adopt - , cd, as from the Ist inst Class 1 and 2, Is. Cd. per week or los. per quarter]; Chiss J, Is. 3d. per week, or 12s. per quarter ; . Class 4, Is. per week, or 10s. per quarter—in advance. ACCOUNTS. ; Accounts to tire amount of £72 10s. 3d. were passed for payment, t government grant , It was resolved, That tire Clerk make application tor the Government grant promised. After a vote of thanks to the Chairman the meeting adjourned.
