DUNSTAN DISTRICT MINING ASSOCIATION.
—o— A meeting of the above Association was held at the Bendigo Hotel. Clyde, on Satur evening t. minutes. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. REPORTS. The Secretary reported that the Petition and Subscription Lists in aid of the Marewhenua Pollution Case had been circulated, but had not as yet been returned. It was resolved, That no action be taken till all the lists were returned. The Petition in the matter of the Mining Board had been sent to the Alexandra Association ; but, from some unexpliiue.l cause, had not beenjreturned. Some dissatisfaction was expressed regarding the action of the persons to whom the petition had been handed. DELEGATE EXPENSES. The balance due to Mr Sims, for ex penses while acting as Delegate at the Mining was passed for payment. SALE OP LAND. It was resolved, That the application for the purchase of laud held by Messrs M‘Laron and Greig be objected to, on various grounds, one being the auriferous nature and position as regards the mining above the laud applied for. AMALGAMATION. After considerable discussion, it was proposed by Mr Sims, seconded by Mr Lindsay, ai d carried, That this Asso'dation is strongly of opinion, from the past working of the various Associations in the district, it would be beneficial if the whole were amalgamated, and one central Asso ciation formed, which would he in a better position to forward the mining interest.
