Secretary— G Fache, Esq. It has long been felt by the inhabitants of the District that the erection and establishment oi a flour mill would prove of the utmost utility and service. Hitherto, however, capitalists and others were deterred from embarking in the enterprise, owing principally to the small quantity of land taken up for agricultural purposes, and also to the fact of the limited area thrown open by the Government for selection. But these drawbacks no longer exist, as a considerable quantity of land is now under cultivation, which is rapidly being increased. From the foregoing and other reasons, the projectors of this enterprise are of opinion that the time has now arrived when the proposition for the erection of a Flour-mill can, with confidence, be brought before the public for consideration ; especially when, at this season, the want is ■deeply felt : while, on the other hand, the undeniable success that has attended the mills erected in a neighboring district offers a bright example, and give such encouragement as to permit an indulgence in the hope of expecting a similar result t here, which the importance of the District justly deserves. The Provisional Directory have deemed it the better to increase the crease the capital by £I,OOO above what (in the first instance) was thought sufficient, making in all £3,000, so as to be in a position, if necessity demands it, to purchase old wheat. But they would impress on the mindsjof intending shareholders that no more capital will be called up than will be necessary to set the mill in motion and produce flour. The choice of motive power to be the subject of future deliberations, due cousiderafion being given to economy. The site of the Mill, also, and other matters of detail, to be left for after consideration by tho_ Company or their Directors. As soon as two hundred Shares are allotted, a General Meeting of Shareholders will be convened,when a Board of Directors and a Manager will be appointed and the Company registered Form of Application for Shares, To O.
