Mr. Roberts, of Mount Ida, occupied the chair, and Mr. Healy, of Arrow, the vicechair. The shortness of the notice given being considered, fa first-class spread was put on the table, and the company one and all did ample justice to the good things prepared for their delectation. Among the gentlemen present (besides tbc members of the Conference) we noticed Mr. 11. Fache, of the Dunstan Times ; and some other gentlemen. The edibles having been cleared away, the chairman, in a few words, on hehalf of the Conference, thanked thu Corporation for the use of the Town hall during their meetings, and proposed the toast “The Town of Clyde,” coupled with the name of the Mayor. Mr. Naylor responded Mr. C. Colclough proposed “Mr. William Laurence Simpson, R. M. and Warden." Mr Christophers proposed “ The Mining Industry,” Mr Healy responded. Mr Sims proposed “ The Agricultural Industry.” Mr Buchan proposed “The Legislature.” Mr Edgar proposed “ The Ladies.” As it was nearly midnight when the table was cleared, the responses were very brief, and saving the hope expressed by each speaker that the labors of the Conference would he of benefit to the mining community, no opinion was eliminated. God save the Queen by the Company, by Mr Colclough on the piano, brought a very happy and sociable boor to a close.
