DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL

The usual monthly meeting of the Committee of Management was held in tin Committee room, Town-hall, Clyde, 01 Monday, the Pndjinstant, at 8 p.m. There were present : —Mr, W. L. Simpson, Vice-President (in the chair', and Messrs. Clark, Holt, Hastie, Auckland, Beck, Stevens, Coleman, Christopheis (Treasurer),-and Fache (Secretary).

MINUTES. The minutes of previous meetings were read and confirmed. The inward and outward correspondence was read, received, and adopted. visiting Committee. The Visiting Committee reported the;, had visited the Institution during the path month, and found everything satisfactory They recommended that 201. be given for the stable, the property of Dr. Stirling, and that the exterior of the Surgeon’s resi deuce be repaired and painted. Report No. 2, recommending payment of accounts lor salaries and supplies for tl e month.'amounting to 981. 13s. 10d., was read and andjadopted. Proposed and seconded, That tho portion of the Visiting Committe’e report respectingjthe purchase of the stable frou Dr. Stirling be accepted. As an amendment, it was proposed, Th u the sum of 251. be given.

Cy Mr. Christophers, That this Committee is of opinion that the paid Medical Offices should be elected by the Committee of Management, instead of 1 y the subscribers, and that Messrs. Hazlett and MTvellar, members of the Provincial Council, be asked to take the necessary steps to carry out the foregning'resolution by having the Hospital Ordinance amended, Amcndment’by Mr. Coleman, That this Committee is of opinion that the paid Me lical Officer be clcetcd by subscribers who have paid their annual subscriptions at least three months before the day of election; also that the Committee be empowered to fix polling booths at each of the chief centres of population in the district ; and that steps he taken to have the Hospital Ordinance amended accordingly.
