Aspecial meeting of the Council was held on the 19th of February. Present The Mayor, Councillors Samson, Morris, Rivers, and M‘Donald. KATES. Councillor Rivers inovcdj&That the rate for the current year be oUe shilling in the pound. Seconded by Or. M‘Donald. Councillor Morris moved, as an amendment, That the rate for the current year be nine pence in the pound. Seconded by Councillor Samson. The original motion was carried bv tho casting vote. * . RESIGNATION. r ouncillor Morris banded in his resignation, which was accepted. FINANCIAL. Mr. Calder’s [account, for 81. 55., was msed for payment. 1 he usual vote of thanks was passed, and ho meeting adjourned.
