CLYDE SCHOOL.

A meeting of the Clyde School Committee was held in the Public Library on Monday, the 29th ult. at 8 p.m. There were present ; The Rev. J. Jones, ■ml Messrs M’ConnocOie, Hazlett, Grindley, Cambridge, and Christophers (Clerk.) Tne Rev. Joshua Jones occupied the chair, MINDTE3. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. The following letters were read and received From A. R. Livingston, dated November 27, B. Naylor, December 8 ; Rev. A. B. Arnot, December 23, asking for he use of the School-house, once a fortlight, for services in connexion with the Presbyterian Church ; Educational Board, November 21 and December 12, re grant of 50/.; ditto, December 1, re annual report, and asking for a statement of the Committee’s views on tho subject of school fees. Resolved, That Mr. Ainot’s request be granted, provided the room 'and furniture be left in the same condition as he found :hem before commencing his occupation. Resolved, That the Rev. J. Jones and Messrs. Ilazlcttjjand Christophers be appointed to draw up a report of the Committee’s views on the sbjeet of school fees, 1 such report to be submitted to to the in- J coming Committee. i ' ° I AUDIT. Mr. F. J. Wilson was elected to audit j the for 1873. i ENTERTAINMENT. The Clerk reported the proceeds of the late entertainment to amount to 12/. -Is. Gd. and the expenses to 21. 3s. 6d. A vote of j thanks was passed to the ladies and gentlemen who assisted, and to the Mayor for the free use of the Townhall. REPORTS. The Schoolmaster’s report for November her and December were read and received. ACCOUNTS. Accounts to the amount of 11/. ISs. lid. EXAMINATION. It was reported that the School had been examined, as requested, and prizes awarded, accordingly. ' ATTENDANCE. The Chairman ’referred tto the fact that the -attendance of scholars was not so regular us could be desired. Resolved, That tho attention of parents be called to the matter in the next Annual Report. After tho usual vote of thanks, the meeting closed.
