The Company is projected for the purpose of'purchasing the p’ant ai d claim of the Conroy’s Reef Company, Cmyoy’s Gn ly, near Ahxaidra, and for snpnlying the necessary capital lor fully developing the mine. ( The reasons which have induced the pr jeetors to take this step are that an interest is in the hands, of trustees and the present owners* have not the n quits (I caphal at their 'command to erect, the machinery .for draining the mine, to enable them to work at a greater depth. So soon as the rcqniied pumping machinery is erected, payab o stone can I e raised. The last parcel of stone taken out at and below the water-level, and crushed, having yielded at the rate of one ounce per ton; and, as the reef is becoming Letter defined, it is anticipated that only a small portion ot the capital of the Company will be required to be called up. The claim is situate on the side of the foiled Conroy’s Gully, which has proved one ot the richest opened in the Dunstan district and it is the opinion of miners that this reef is the matrix from which the gully has been supplied with the precious metal. The amount of gold already obtained from thiamine (details of which, I tnge her wi hj the. amount of money j expended on the plant and c'aim are annexed). These will indicate the i value of the property to be acquired ; by the Comp my. An agreement has been entered into '■ wiih the present owners to sell io the Company the mine, water - whe d, stampers, water-rights race, tramway, dams, tools, and material, ic-, connected therewith, for the sum of £1,200, to be paid to them in the following manner ; —L6SO cash and 550 paid-up shares The said 550 shares thesciipis to beheld in the hands of the I (Lectors until it shall be rautua ly agreed that they be i pissed in the bo ks in the same manner as contributing shares This course s adopted to prevent tluse paid up hares being thrown on the imiikc until the Company is fully established. It is proposed that one-half of the permanent Directors shall be elected fr m among the Dunedin shareholders.
