- 0 — At the W iste Lin la Board meeting on Thursday last the 27th instant, the following business was transaeto- 1 : Mr. ’ihomas Mulvey requested that the Waste Land Board would pay the expenses of the Board of Inquiry to go to St. Bathan’s to hold the investigation into the objections to the sale at that town instead iof holding it at Na=cby. The letter fori warded to the Board containing the above 1 request stated thar- for District Boards to i be of any use should he made m vable.— i The Chief Commissioner said that the cost i of changing the place of inquiry would be I more than the matter in dispu'ewasworth, ■ as the expenses would probably be sft/ to I 100/., and the value of the sections about 200/. The request was referred to the Government. A letter from John Martin and Philip Broad, submitting that the price of fids, per acre for their holdings (Sections 41 and 41. B1 ick 11,, Teviot District) is excessive, and requesting the Board to reconsider its j decision. The letter nho made reference j to what wore termed the excessive charges ! made by the surveyors for travelling expenses, and stated that, in one instance, , where four applicants had obtained the services of a surveyor from Clyde, separate fc‘ s for travelling expenses were charged in each case. The Chief Commissioner said it should ha clearly understood that only onc-lLiid travelling expenses were to lie paid in all insrancea. The B >ard resolved to confirm t.ncir former decision. The application of Edward Tubman to exchange Ins leases of Sections 4, 0, and 19, Block I, Bongcr District, under Clause C2, . v#„s approved.
