THE GOLD MINING BILL.
- o (to THE EDITOR OF THE DUNSTAN TIMES). Sir, The fact of the Gold Mining Bill having been unceremoniously kicked out of the House of Representatives affords that antidiluvian fossil an opportunity of gratifying his spleen against die Gold-fields ineuiheis generally through tire medium of your columns. One thing 1 think we may take credit for, however, that wo do notjobstruct every measure having fur its object the settlement of the country. Can and his fellow nominees say tlris truthfully. I think the sooner the Council is brought face to face with the electors the better, and in that case I am sure the place that now knows would know him no more forever. My object in writing this is to protest against your columns being made the vehicle of indiscriminate abuse of members of the elective branch of the Legislature by those who are responsible to none but themselves. 1 am, &c., AN OTAGO M.H.R. Wellington, Sept. 25, 1873.
