THE CONCERT ON CARDRONA IS AID OF THE DUNSTAN HOSPITAL.

Pro the editor or the dusstan times.) Sir : —I think a word of thanks is due f ur the united exertions of the performers i 0 the late Concert. The sum realized proves beyond a doubt that it was a grand sue. cess, and where praise is due, such should be given without alloy. Special thanks are due to Mrs. Gallacher for her son* “ Logan the Laird,” which was loudly en. cored—in response, Mr. and Mrs. Gallacher came forward and sang a duet, which was very much applauded. Mr. John Mackay, an original character, is worthy of notice for his song, “ The Song of Songs." He has earned for himself local fame. I a fact, the programme was gone through m such a masterly style by Messrs. Austin, Brothers, Mace, Gloss, Hodgson, Pearce Bovitt, Bolton, Brickland, and Kudhaa that the audience burst forth in applause on several occasions during the perform, ance. Thanks’s also due to Messrs. Mack and Miller for their musical entertainment. After the Concert, a Ball was given, and the lads and lasses tripped on the light fantastic toe until an early hour in the morning—thus terminating one of the most pleasant and social entertainments that has ever taken place on Cardrona. I am, &c., PEABODY. |

' (TO THE KDITOB OF THE DUN STAX TIMES.) Sir Lots has Wn said lately in the “ Cromwell Argus ” about Cromwell’s prosperity. How does that tally with an application to get the street made narrower, when the modem plan is to have wide streets in new countries ? 1 am, Sir, &c., ANTI HUMBUG. Clyde. September 10.
