Conditions under which rewards will be given for the discovery of new gold-fields from the date hereof till the 3kt eE December, 1574. 1 Tbafc person will be deemed the d'scoverer who shall first find gold and notify the same, in writing, either to the Superintendent of the Province, or to the Chairman of the County of Wostland, or to the nearest Warden or Resideut Magistrate. In such notification the discoverer sha'l state, as nearly as praeticab'e the exact locality and the distance from the nearest gold working or nearest tow a. 2. If two or mote persons simultaneously discover gold in the same locality or in places immediataly adjacent, and they each . jverally comply with the conditions above mentioned, the sum proper to be awarded will be divided amongst the several persons who have diseovevc 1 the gold field in such manner as shall hi determined after - due invc: tigation by the Secretary for the Crown Lands or his appointee. 3 Rewards will oply bo given for discoveries male sutaerpiently to the publication of this notice. Conditions applicable to North island. (a) The newly gold field must be distant at least thirt) miles from the nearest gold workings.
