DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.

— o— usual monthly meeting of the Committee of Management was held in the Committee Boom, Town Hall, on Tuesday, the Bth instant, at 8 p.m. Present : Mr. J. U. Cambridge (in the chair) and Messrs. Naylor, Marshall, Auckland, Holt, Stevens, Cliristophersr(Treasurer),'and George Fache (Secretary). The minutes of the last monthly meeting were read and confirmed. The inward and oiitward correspondence were read, received, and adopted. The Visiting Committee’s report, to the effect that the Institution was everything that could he desired, and that the several articles applied for in previous reports had been supplied ; also the Visiting Committee’s report No. 2, recommending payment of accounts amounting to 118?. Is. GJ., for salary, supplies, &c., for the mouth, were read and adopted. The Treasurer pointed out that the heavy expenditure for the month was attributable to two exceptional items—ls?. 15s. for furnishings and 15?. 4s. 9d. for lignite. The Treasurer’s report, as follows, was read and received:— Receipts :

Considerable discussion took place on the question of ways and means. The Secretary stated lie had sent to all the out-lying distr’.els subscuption lists, accompanied by letter asking for canvas for funds. In consequence of the absence of Mr. AV. L. Simpson, his notice of motion tabled y at the last meeting, was ordered to stand over till the neat meeting. Mr. J. E. Stevens was re-elected member of tbc visiting Committee. The Treasurer stated, that a parcel of magazines, for the use of the Institution, had been, received from Messrs. Holland, of blackstonr-hill. A vote of thanks was accorded them, and the Secretary was instructed to convey the same by letter. The usual vote of thanks terminated tire proceedings.
