The wool sales are animated, foreign buyers, especially from Normandy. The attendance good; and great competition. Firm prices maintained to the close. The next sales are fixed for July. There have boon ten recent arrivals, bringing 101,00!) bales. The prospects for the forthcoming series are favorable. FRANCE. M’Mahon’s message to the Assembly promises a scrupulous obedience to the will of the Assembly. A resolute Conservative policy is being pursued, Thiers has joined the left centre. The Bounapartists support the now Covernmeut. Tranquility prevails. Franco pursues a free trade policy, and will probably abandon Thiers’ commercial treaties. I It is rumored that it is intended to proclaim a Republic, and make M’Mahon, President for five years, and irresponsible. GENERAL. The Shah of Persia was brilliantly received at St. Petersburg!!. The eldest sou of Princess Louise of Hesse fell from a window and was killed. Groat trade demonstrations have taken place in Hyde Park, to protest against the laws for punishment to workmen. Results of the wool sales show greasy sorts Ad above March series, and Lambs, (half-bred) owing to a largo supply, 2d lower. Best washed scoured fleece, slightly advanced. Medium and lower, unchanged Capes average a reduction of about 1 Ad. About 100,000 bales have been taken for exportation. Franco was the principal foreign customer; Germany furnished a number of buyers, and America none. The Orleanists arc endeavouring to disassociate themselves from the alliance with the Legitimists and Bounapartists. The Assembly voted for the ro-con-struotion of the Ycndomo column. Tire Bank of France advanced the Government 200,000,000 francs in gold for the payment of the indemnity.
