The inward and outward oorrcspondence was read, received, and adopted. . Resolved, That the application of the Hospital Ball Committee, for the use of the Hall on Tuesday evening, the £7th hist; was granted. The Mayor said he had accepted the offer of.l. Young for rental of the water race lately purchased hy the Council, at,7s.<'6d. per week. A weekVnotico to givejjnp to be given on either side.

The Bridge Committee reported that they were in communication with the Government, the plans wete prepared, and that nothing dellriitc would he done till thelatter cud of the"week, when they considered it would bo necessary for the Mayor or'one of the Council to proceed to town and make deliiiite'arvaiigomcnts. An Act submitted, was referred to tho Public Works Committee. A vote of thanks to the chair concluded tho meeting. CLYDE SCHOOL. A Committee westing was held in the Public library, May 14, at 4 p.m. . Present, Lev. J. Junes in theCliair, and Messrs. Hazlctt, Wilson, M'Couochio, Grndley, Cambridge and Chrismehers. The minutes of tho last meetings were read and confirmed. The inward correspondence, including three letters from the Secretary totho Educational Baird, and a Circular referring to vaccination, were read and received. Resolved—That the Circular bo referred to the Schoolmaster for his information and guidance. Resolved—That the position of sewing Mistress be offered to Mrs. Stevens, upon the condition that she devote her whole time during school hours. Resolved—That in the event of the an pointment. being accepted by Mrs. Stevens, tho School-hoard he notified of the same. The Clerk reported thorecelptof 327 Os. 6d. being the net procee Is of Sports, &c., held on Easter Tuesday. Resolved—That a vote of thanks be recorded to Messrs. M'Connoehio, Orindloy an 1 Cambridge, an 1 to the other gentlemen who assisted them in carrying out tho programme. Resolved—That pens and ink bo in future snpp’ied at the Committee’s cost. Resolved—That application bo made to tho Educational Board for,a further grant to enable tho Committee to clear off' the balance of 707 duo on the School building. Accounts amounting to 127 3s. for books, stationery, an! cleaning School, were paired for payment. Tho Schoolmaster’s report was road and rccci vcd.

A sub-committee, consisting of Messrs. Hazlett, Cambridge and M'Couimchie wore appointed, and empowered to procure the necessary furnishings for the School-house, &c. A vole of tlianhs to the Chair concluded the proceedings. The following is the circular above referred to :—- Education Office. Dunedin, April 1, 1873.
