—o A meeting of the numhets of the above body was held in Mr. P' Rankin’s private residence on Monday e-renin;, the 3id inst. The Rw. J. Jones, President, occupied the chair. The Secretary (Mr Rankin) read the following report of the proc»edings of the Society for the year cn iing the 3rd of March, 1873In bringing in their report, the “flierbearers have to ray that the condition of the As-ociatimi conti ms to be, upon the wiiole, hopeful an I prosperous, the number of the adult members being slightly on tho increase. “ A few members have broken the rules, and have remained outside the Association; but these are so few that, however their individual cases may ho tegretted for their own takes, the Association hj; s not suffered in numbers, tho loss being more than counterbalanced by the increase. Some members also are lost to the Association by their departure from the distiiot. “ During the past half-year seven regular meetings and one siocial mee ittg have been hal I, an 1 one e.itortai uno-.it was given for the benefit of the Association, and another was given, under the manageunnt of the School Committee, with the assistance of the Band of Hope, for 'lie benefit of ths School. At the benefit of tho Association the sum of 61. was realised. A supply of copies of tho “ Baud of Hope Review” was utdered, through Mr. Marshall, for circulation among the junior members of the Association, and the attention of tho future Office-bearers is directed to tho fact that these are expected to arrive by the next English mail.
