(to tub edit in OF the dunstan times ) Sir Would yu insert the following few Tots in yniir journal Ik aring upon the late Inquest held here upon the body of Elizabeth Jane M ‘Comb, and of which child lam the parent. The inquest was cal'e I f >r in ernsoquenee of Dr. Niven, who attended the child previous to dea hj, eru 1 y and maliciously attributing .he same to neglect, which he signally faile i to substantiate. the jury unanimously returning the verdict, “ death fn m natural causes” and exonerating the parents and muse from any blame, some of the jury wishing to censure Dr. Niven for having ben the cause of tin Inquest, as they considered it quite umn coisary. -The child ten weeks previous had lea under the care of an eiperi- iv-ed f male, who has hail a lane famhy • f her own, and who gave nnremirti g attention to the child, and who during our at sence from Black’s, had instructions from ns not to spare any expense it it should bo necessary, we therefore fee| more acutely the cruel, falsa and unfee iug ckai ge m de by Ur Niven that the infant had been mgl ctcd—if any ne.leet has been, it emanated from himself, as after he wis called in he should have been mi’enii ting in his attendance.’ His object in so shamefully insulting ns I cannot define, except ho had a p ist ntunem in view for the sake of the fee I am, &0., STEWART M'C'O-MB, Black’s.
