DOGS.

(TO THE EDITOR OF THE DUNSTAN TIMES") Sir, —With your permission, ] will, through your valuable columns, draw attention to the number of curs running about the town, not only an; annoyance to foot passengers, but actually dangerous to those either on horseback or driving; As an instance, on Wednesday evening, a gentleman on driving into the town from Cromwell with a pair of greys, had a narrow escape from a capsize, through one of these pests rushing out and frightening the horses. I make these remarks for the purpose of drawing the attention of those who will have to receive the tax, to be most severe with the collecting of the same, and make an example of the first party keeping an unregistered dog. Yours, &c, OBSERVER. Clyde, January 23, 1573.
