DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.

The > sual monthly meeting of the Committee of the above lustitut on, was held in the Committee room, Town Hall, on Monday, October 7, at 8 p.ra. Present:—J. Hazlett, Esq., President, W. Fraser, Esq., vice-president, and Messrs. Marshall, Cambridge, Beck, Cox, A. Christophers, (Hon. Treasurer,) and G. Fache, Secretary. The minutes of theprevious meeting were read and confirmed. The inward and outward correspondence were read, received, and adopted. The \ isiting Committee’s report, recom. mending thepayment of accounts for salaries and supplies for the past mouth, amounting to 9IL 13s. Id was read and adopted. The Treasurer’s report as follows, was read and received. Subscriptions and Donations. Per Cromwell Local Committee.—

The Resident Surgeon’s report as follows, was read and received. Number of patients admitted during the month, 9 ; discharged, 7 ; remaining in Hospital 10. Average daily number of in-door Patients, tea and four-fifteenths. Number of out-door potients attended to, 11. The report referred to three chronic cases, an a recommended that the patients be sent to Dunedin. also to surgical instruments required, and informing the C mmhteethat they were not to be obtained cither in Dunedin or Melbourne.

Resolved, That the Visiting Committee be authorised to have forwarded to Dunedin the three chronic patients. Resolved, That no further action he taken With regard to the instruments. Resolved, That the Visiting Committee be requested to i avo a cupboard made, in accordance with the suggestion made by the Resident Surgeon.

A letter was read from the Resident Surgeon, regarding several discharged patients being in a position to pay for the benefits they had received. The Secretary was requested to supply the accounts.

Resolved, That this Committee beg to express their sincere thanks to the g' ntlemen composing the Cromwell Local Committee of the Du..stan District Hospital for their strenuous and successful exertions on behalf of the Institution, more especially as the very handsome sums collected by them has enabled the Treasurer to show a surplus.

Wr. W Auckland was elected a member of the Visiting Committee.
