A writer ilia Boston journal communicates the followin'; infoimauon “reganling the career of the adventures who was married in London to the late well-know actor, Walter Montgomery—a marriage which was almost immediately followed by the suicide of the bridegroom. This woman was one of the coryphees of a Boston theatre, when she attraced the attention of an old but wealthy citizen, who was foolish enough to marry her. The union was not a happy one, as the woman soon developed a fondness for fast society which was anything but agitable to her aged spouse finally she run away and visited England where it was well known she was married to Montgomery, who was on the point of visiting the United States. It has been said that his mortification on discovering the trve dura. ter of the person he had wedded, drove him to the desperate step of taken his own life in preference to meeting the san which he expected lo receive from the world when the facts became known. Mr. Montgomery dead and buried, the spurious widow returned to her legitimate husband in Boston, who appears to have been so infatuated with the unprincipled adventuress as to have Inst all regard for his honor or good name. Ihj treacherous woman was received with open arms, and supplied with unlimited sums of money. She appeared in public on every occasion with all possible display and making a profuse and ostentations expenditure of her husband’s wealth. In the course, of a few. months the foolish old gentleman’s means were all squandered, and very recently Ins name appeared in a list of bankrupts. As might have been expected, the woman who had caused his ruin deserted him as soon as his ability to administer to her extravagance had failed”
