SHARE MARKET.
Mr. William M'Nab,'Sharebroker, Cromwell, reports for week ending ,‘lrd, iust.— Since my last, tlie share market has been very quiet, owing partly to the fact, that the two last crushings on the Garrick having hardly come up to the expectations of intending investors, who, however, finding holders firm, are beginning to pluck up courage again. I learn on good authority, that the Gol 'en Link Company’s quartz claim will shortly be placed before the public, under the Limited Liability Act, and if so, I have no doubt, but that it will usurp first place in the market, the magnitude of the shares having hitherto debarred investments. For Stars, I ask 51. 55., sales at 51. 3s. 6d. ; Heart of Oaks, 6'. 10s, sales a shade lower ; Elizabeths, 31. 2s. 6J, though sales have been reported at 3?. ss. In water shares, Scandinavians a shade lower than in previus quotations, from the •fact of no dividend being declared at their October quarter. The severity of the winter having frrzen up the races, till the last few weeds, having a tendency to make buyers shy of advancing, with the prospects the company' have at Surface Hill and Smoker’s Flat the January dividend it is expected will make up for the past. United Mountain, Enterprise, and Hit or M’ss as before.
