Wellington, Sept. 5, 2.30. The Gold-fields Bill, as introduced by the Government, does not meet the approval of any of the Gold-fields Committee, to -whom it has been referred. The Committee have returned the Bill to the Government for considerable alterations. There is no chance of the Bill passing this Session. The division on the Want of Confidence motion will probably take place to-day. The expected result is—for the Government, 37; Opposition, 40.
