1 Mr Justice Johnston, in passing sentence the other day, at Napier, upon a man convicted of an assault upon a child, said “he should like to export him to some country inhabited by savages and wild animals-” His Honour Judge Ward, sentenced a Bankrupt named Macintosh of the Riverton District to twelve months’ imprisonment with hard labor for concealment of his estate, the facts proved being that he had omitted from his schedule a certain debts of 20/, 5s 5d due to him, and of which debt* he had, since his declaration of insolvency, attempted to obtain payment.
