CLYDE SCHOOL.
—o — A meeting of the Committee of the Clyde School was held on Friday evening last, the 12th inst. Present i Messrs., ‘Hazlett (in the chair), Kaiikin, M ‘Connochie, Hastie, Grindloy, Aldridge, and A. Christophers (Clerk). The minutes of meetings held on the 19th, 23rd, and 26th of March and on the Ist of April, were read and confirmed. The following letters were read and received ; —From Mr lugs, Schoolmaster, rosigucharge of the School ; llcv. A. Blake, asking for,use of School Room ; Clerks of tho Queenstown and Arrowtowh Committees, containing rates of School ; Education Office, dated Ist of April, regarding mode of obtaining Government grant for the now building j ditto, remitting quarterly’ salary allowance; telegram from ditto, in reference to new Schoolmaster ; Circular from same, dated the 28th of March, intimating that no changes would he made this year in the salary allowance On tho motion o"JVr. Griudley, seconded by Mr. Rankin, it was resolved to accept Mr. Ings’s resignation. Resolved, That the Rev. Mr. Blake he granted the use of the School-house. Resolved, That the consideration of rates of school fees be deferred until a new master is elected. Mr. Webb’s tender for cleaning, &e.,tho School-house was accepted. The Schoolmaster’s report was read and received. Accounts to the amount of 10(. 7s. were passed for payment. Proposed by Mr. Griudley, seconded by Mr. Rankin, and carried, That Messrs. Hastie and M ‘Connochie be authorised to arrange for - the sale of the surplus fruit trees, &0., in the garden. Proposed by Mr. Griudley, seconded by Mr. Rankin, and carried, That advertisements be inserted in the Government Gazette and the Daily Times, for a Schoolmas er and Schoolmistress (those competent to teach music to have the preference), at a joint salary of 22 51. per annum. After the usual vote of thanks, the meeting adjourned.
