Sir, — We arc in receipt of your favor of this date, respectins the Surrender of the whole or a part cf our freehold at Black's, and in reply beg to inform you that some months ago wn submitted an otfer to Rio Provincial Government of the whole of onr interest in the pro emptivo right for 1000/., or for cne thousand acres of laud, to be selected in a locality approved of by the Government. This offer was declined. Wc do md wish to stand in the way of the settles at Black’s ; and, as you put tin matter \ cry urgen ly, wo agree to offer, say eighty acres of the land, for odlV., and to rehain the buildings and other improvements, with the ten or twelve acres upon which they are scattered.
