PRESENTATION TO MR. R. BARLOW.

—o— On Saturday evening last the members of tbe Dunstan District Hospital Committee presented Mr. R. Barlow with an illuminated address, in recognition of the valuable services rendered, and in appreciation of the zeal and energy ever displayed by him ns Secretary and Collector to the Institution. Mr. James Ilazlett, (President), in presenting the address, referred in eulogistic terms of the untruiug eiergy over displayed by Mr. Barlow during the four years he had held the post, ho regretted the circumstance of Mr. Barlow leaving the District and Colony, he had ever shown himself in the foremost ranks in all things tending to the welfare of the District, and he felt assured his loss would be felt by all sections, more especially by the Committee of management of the Dunstan District Hospital. From the impecunious position of the Institution, the presentation he was sorry to say was not of more intrinsic value, but as a token of respect, and an expression of good will, simple as it was, it would speak for itself, and he trusted that it would be received in the same good spirit as as in which it was given. He could but say he wished him every success in hia new field of labor, and he doubted not he was expressing the opinions of all who had ever come in contact with him, whethes in business or friendly relations. Mr. Robert Barlow, who was much affected, said he sincerely thanked the Committee for the mark of their approval. In performing the d ties of Secretary to the Dunstan District Hospital, he had but done his duty, and tne testimonial presented to him was evidence that he had not failed. He should ever value it, and always refer to the proceedings of this evening with pride and pleasure. I The company then retired, and in a social I glass drank prosperity to Mr. Barlow, end i a good voyage.
