It is'a striking fact that most persons want to weigh more than they do, and measure their health by their weight, as if a man were a pig, valuable in proportion to his heaviness. The racer is not fat—a good.plough-horse has but a moderate amount of flesh, Heavy men are not those which experienced contractors employ to make railroads and dig ditches Thin men, the world oyer are the men for endurance are the ■wiry and hardy, thin people, live the logest. , A cheerful man is happy even if 1 he possesses little; a fretful man is unhappy in the midst of affluence. One great difference between a wise man and a fool is, the former only wishes for what he may possibly obtain! the latter desires impossibilities.
