—o - The usual monthly 'meeting of the Committee was held in the Council Chamber on Friday last, the 4thiust. Present : Messrs. I. U. Cambridge (in the chair), C. P. Peck, B. Naylor, W. Grindley, A. Christophers (Treasurer), and R. Barlow (Secretary). The minutes of the last monthly meeting, of subscribers held on the 32nd ultimo, and of special meeting held on the Ist instant, were read and confirmed. The inward correspondence was read and -eceived, including a letter from Mr. W. Pyle, of St. Bathan’s, enclosing 6/. 7s. 3d.; amount of the proceeds of Hospital Race run on the St. Eathan’s race-course ; from Dr. Stirling, asking the Committee to reconsider the matter of salary, with a to its being increased. Resolved, That trie thanks of the Committee be conveyed to the owners of the winners of the various Hospital races, and also to those gentlemen who collected the amounts. Mr. Christophers“stated that the closets of the Institution were very disagreeable, and suggested that something should bo done with them. Resolved, That the annual meeting of subscribers for the election of a new Committee for the ensuing year take place on Friday, the 20th instant, and that an advertisement be inserted in the Dunstan Times notifying the same. A discussion ensued on the letter relative to increasing the salary of the R-sidcnt Surgeon. Dr. Stirling, who had been invited to attend, intimated his willingness to take charge of the Institution for one month, on the understanding tha' the Committee in the meantime would take ste] s to increase the salary to 250/. per annum, at which salary he would be willing to ui.undertake the duties permanently. Resolved, That the President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Mr. George Fache be a< - pointed a Sub-Committee to draw up the annual report. Resolved, That Mr. Ilazlett a notice of motion, “ That no member of Committee be allowed to tender for supplies,” be referred to the animal general meeting of contributors. The meeting then terminated with a vote of thanks to the Chairman.
