A mysterious Vigilance CJommit f ee, reviving the memories of old days, ' pleasant and uioui-'fu! to the soul.' has just been scattering through the city by night a fearful hand bill, illustrated and emphasized by rows of black coffins, like ghastly exclamation points, and running thus, in the biggest and blackest of type: 'Murderers, thieves, and robbers ! Beware ' .The first man who commits murder, robbery, or larceny to the amount of twenty dollars is our meat. A word to the wise is sufficient. This is Our first and last warning. Thieves notified to leave this place will do so at once, or stay at their peril. The M. and R.H's. will meet at 8 o'clock pm., August 20, 1871. at the rear room of M. andjß.H. —By order ol the Execution Committee.'"'
