The general supposition is that he went down to the wharf to see them off. It was frightfully dark, and a tremendous ga'e was blowing, it is probable he missed his way or was blown off the wharf His body is being brought to Dunedin for interment. It is thought that a strong team will be sent hum here to represent the province at the Canterbury Begatta. Subscriptions are being asked for to pay expenses. A clause providing for a Board of advice was introduced. The Eailw'ay Bill passed without any material amendment. Mr. Vogel stated his reasons for disagreeing with the Council’s amendments. The prorogation stands indefinitely postponed. A roan, name unknown, was killed by a dray accident, at Kakanui. Arrived.—The May Queen and Bouverie. LATEST PARLIAMENTARY. The Conference was successful last night, and agreed to report. Managers’ water supply clauses reinstated. Bating clauses, with modifications, remain struck out (?). The Southern members left in the Fhcehe this morning. The Assembly was prorogued at 1 o’cloak to-day.
