PROSPECTUS. THE ARROW OBSERVER and Lakes District Chronicle. WILL RE ISSUED ON FRIDAY, 9th of JUNE. A WEEKLY NEWSPAPER TO BE PRINTED AND PUBLISHED AT ARROW TOWN. 'I’HE Promoters of “The Arrow Observer and Lakes District Chronicle,” in issuing their Journal, fe«l assured that they will he able to supply a public want, long felt in the Arrow District, which district, they are inclined to believe, only requires to have made known its superior advantages to raise it to the position to which its natural resources entitle it. The proprietors, therefore, feel convinced that the public will accord the roost liberal support to a Journal which will not only be produced on the spot, but will give a free and unbiassed expression of public opinion. The Arrow District possesses advantages to the Miner, Agriculturist, Tradesman, and Laborer unsurpassed elsewhere, and for bona-nde settlement few places in Otago offer so many at tractions. The population is rapidly increasing, and there is every reason to believe that this increase will continue. .p Hilt will be the study of the proprietors of this Journal to at all times advance the interests of the District, knowing full well that the prosperity of the community represented by them will tend to their success, and they trust that their efforts on this behalf will be appreciarad/by public. Matters peffainmg Mining will receive strict aficnjjm. New Discoveries, indentions, and Improvements in this branch of industry will be faithfully chronicled. Competent reporters will periodically make a tour through the District for the purpose of reporting upon the operations in progress ; also to personally ascertain the wants and requirements of the miners, so that they may have due publicity. The same will be the case with respect to agriculture, with the addition that a report of the Market Value of every article of Grain, Produce, and Stock will be published weekly. Arrangements have been made for receiving Correspondence from tho various Goldfields, Dunedin, and Wellington, from which places regular and periodical Reports will he published. The Latest Local and Telegraphic Intelligence up to the hour of going to presswill appear in each issue, while the proceedings of the Resident Magistrates 1 and Wardens’ Courts and other matters of public interest will bo faithfully reported.
