CLYDE TOWN COUNCIL.

A special Jmeeting of the Clyde Town Council was held in the Town Hall, on the evening of Friday the 12th instant. , Present, the Mayor,"and Councilors. Patterson, Naylor, Clark, AVelsford, Hueston, and Hastie.

The minute of the "previous meeting were read and confirmed.

The correspondence, consisting of letters from Messrs. Kenyon anil Maddock, Mr. Ings, Secretary of the Forester’s Court, and from Mr. Willis, was received.

Messrs. Kenyon and Maddock applied for the payment of an account. The Town Clerk was directed to obtain the particulars of the'claim.

The letter of Mr. Ings requested the Counciljto credit the “ Court Star of the Dunstan ” with £2 25., rent of the Town Hall on the night of their quarterly meeting. It was ordered to stand over. Mr. Willis’s letter inquired whether the Corporation of Clyde had any objection to the amalgamation of the’Clyde and Alexandra commonages. The Town Clerk was directed to inform Mr. Willis that the Council had no objection to such amalgamation.

The Town Clerk was directed to .inform Mr. Shepherd of the requirements of the district.

After a discussion'it'was resolved to call for tenders for cutting in the race from Pie Nic Gully to the Site'of the dam. The public works committee’Were instructed to ascertain’the cost of forming the southern end of Sunderland tsreet. Councillors Clark and Hueston were instructed to order skylights for the town hall, and to see the same properly fixed. A vote of thanks to the Chairman terminated the proceedings.
