[We do not identify ourselves -with the opinions that may be expressed by our correspondents.] (to the editor of the dunstan times) A malicious and fulse statement, misreporting my utterances at Alexandra some month since appeared in the Cromwell Anjus of the 11th instant. It is only right that I should inform the public, through the medium of your journal, that I called at the Argus office to give my denial of the statement referred to, and that I was promised by one of the proprietors that such denial should be made public in the same paper as thao which published the libel. This promise has not been observed. As I intend to take other proceedin the matter 1 shall not make any comment on the facts disclosed. I am, &c., VINCENT PYKE. Clyde, April 27, 1871.
