TOWN COUNCIL, CLYDE.

The usual monthly meeting,of the Municipal Council was held in the Town Hall, Clyde, on Wednesday evening last. Present the Mavor, and Councillors Hueston, Hastie, Clark and Welsford. The minutes ot the previous monthly meeting were read and confirmed. The outward correspondence was approved, and the inward, consisting of a letter from Mr. Shepherd, and one from Mr. Willis were received. The matter of the expenses incurred by Mr. Holt in defending the actions brought against him by Mr. Feraud was adjourned till the mxt meeting. The Mayor stated that he had engaged Mr. Wilson to watch the case on behalf of the Council.

The Town Clerk was directed'to reply to Mr. Shephejrd’s letter.

After a (Mission it was resolved that a fresh eiectiMp Clerk should take place 9u Wednesday next.
