DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.

The adjourned mooting of the members of the Dunstau District Hospital was held at the Town Hall, Clyde, on the evening of Monday, the 14th instant.

Present, Messrs. J. U. Cambridge, (in the chair) Christophers, (Hon Secretary) Grindlcy, Beck, Cambridge, Jv'aylor, Holt, Marshall, Patterson, Welsford, Parks Fache and Barlow (Secretary). A letter from Mr. Purti n, enclosing £8 1 Is. Cd. proceeds of a concert given at St Bathan’s, and suggesting the advisability o forming a local committee for St. Eathan’ c and Welshman’s, was read. The letter was received and a vote of thanks was accorded to Mr. Pnrton, Mr. George, and the other gentlemen who so kindly gave their services on the occasion of the concert. On the motion of Mr. Marshall, seconded by Mr. Grindley the Secretary wasinstructed to carry out the suggestions contained in Mr. Purton’s letter on his first visit to St. B.ithan’s.

A discussion in reference to the Hospital Race, resulted in it being decided to leave the matter in the hands ofthe Visiting Com. mittce.

Mr. Christophers moved that a vote of thanks bo tendered to Mrs. Burrows and Vincent Pykc Esq., for their exertions

iu raising funds for tho Hospital Race at Clyde. The motion was put and carried. Mr. Patterson gave notice that at the next monthly meeting he would move that the Resident Surgeon’s salary from henceforth shall he at the rate of £350 per annum with residence, and that ho he allowed private practice within a radius of four miles from the Hospital. Tenders for the supplies for the Hospital for tho months were opened, and the following accepted ; C. coffins, £2 2s. each. William Wells, burials, £1 10s. William Grindley, beef, 4d. peril)., mutton, Old. Shins, (id. B. Naylor, Groceries, Wines, Spirits. &c. It was decided not to accept the tender of Mr. Hastio, for bread at. la. 3d. per loaf, hut to leave the Visiting Committee to arrange for a supply. A vote of thanks to the chair terminated the proceedings.
