December 14. (Before Vincent Pyke, Esq., R.M., ami J Hazlett Esq, and J. D. Eeraud Esq., J P’s.) William Wells was charged-on information with using language calcnlateii to piovoke a breach of the peace to John Ah Lao There was a cross summons of a simi ar not are hy Wells against Ah Loo. Mr. Brough appeared for Wells. It appeared that Ah Loo who has suffered serious damage from the incursions of goats into his garden, was attempting to inflict summary punishment on some of the marauders by shooting at them, when Wells, the reputed owner of some of 'them, came upon the scene, high words followed and mutual abuse eu-ued, culminating in a race to the RM. Court for informations ; both cases were dismissed, the plaintiffs in each case to pay their own costs.

John Ah Loo was charged on information wit i discharging fire-arms within the municipal I ouudary of Clyde. This case was dismissed with a caution. baylor v. Daniel, Mr. Brough appeared for plaintiff. Claim for £2l 8s 9d. Dtfen dant did not appear, but sent a letter stating that he had been adjudicated baakmpt. Judgment was given for the amount claimed, and costa. Birough v. Fowler. This was an' action brought by Mr. Brough against Gilbert Fowler for encroaching on'the street line. Mr. Bailey on behalf of defendant asked for time to remove the building complained of. Mr. Brough stated that, ho acted on behalf of the people of Clyde, as Mr. Fowler’s premises not only encroached on the street, but was an eyesore ; he did not press for a penalty, but wished the Bench to direct the removal of tthe building. The Bench directed that the building should be removed within two mouths. Ah Loo v. Wells. Claim for £9 Bs., for damages sustainol to plaintiff’s garden from the depredations of defendant’s goats. Mr. Brough appeared tor defendant. There being no evidence fixing the ownership of the goats on defendant the case was dismissed, the Resident Magistrate recommending plaintiff to impound all goats trespassing on his property when, if not claimed within twenty four hoars, they would be destroyed.
