THE STATE OF THE ROAD.
(to the Editor of the Dunstan Times. ) Sir, —Permit me, through the columns of your Taper, to call the Road Engineer’s attention to the state of the road between Tiger H’i rid Young Hill Creek (about one mile the Durstau side of OhattoCreek); Having (—avelled several times lately over that portion of the road, I am in a position to state that it is posit’velv dangerous and wonkl suggest that, the road-men would he better employed in repairing the said road than they are at present, viz, quarrying stone for the construction of culverts over the water races near Tiger Hill for the pnrof making a new road (where it is not required) and closing up a really good public road. Has the Government sanctioned this alteration (?) My reason for calling attention to tins matter is that I consider It a Waste of public money, and that the portion of road above referred to should be repaired by the, men who are at present quarrying stone for no public purpose. I am, &c., TRAVELLER. Cth May, 1870.
