ALEXANDRA. TOWN COUNCIL.

The usual of the Council Was held on Friday evening, the Bth instant. Present, the Mayor, and Councillors Beresford Colder and Theyers. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The correspondence was read and approved. A statemsnt of rates collected, ' amounting to £G6 Is. was laid on the, table by the Town Clerk. After the statement had been examined, Councillor Theyers proposed and Councillor Beresford seconded— " statement be signed, and transmitted to Government for collection of subsidy. Carried. The Town Clerk also laid on the table a statement of) estimatedrevenue and expenditure for the year 1870-1, aa"prepared by the Finance Committee. Ifcwasmaile up as follows :—lncome. Estimated rate 3, £l2O ; Licenses, &c , £5 ; Government subsidy, £l2O. Expenditure,—Salaries, £SO; Stationery, advertising. &c, £2O ; Sundries, £2O; Public Works, £155. Resolved, " That the statement be adopted, and published in the " Gazette " as required by the Ordinance. Sundry accounts were passe! for payman t. Cr. Theyers state! that a few "loads of gravel were bally wanted at the top of the street, just above the part permanently gravelled ;as also a load or two at the crossing of the water raec'ncarE fence— The Tcwn.Ckrk was instructed to see this work doue. A vote of thanks to the Chair concluded the meeting.
