DUN -TAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.

A meeting of the Committee was held in file Town Hall on Tuesday evening last, present—Rev. C. S. Ross in the Chair, A. Christophers, (Treasurer) and Messrs Hazlett, Patterson, Christophers, Grindley, Hueston, Beck, Hastie Marshall and R. Barlow, (Secretary). The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. The correspondence was read and received, &c.

It was resolved that Dr. Burrow’s reqrttst’ho complied with, and that the salary be indteased to the sum of L.425 per annum to date from the time that Dr. Barrows took charge of the Institution.

The Secretary state i that in answer to questions, that the VisitiVig Committee had advertised for tenders for lining and ventilating the kitchen ; thet they had accepted the Tender of M-. J antes ConnCw for the sum of L. 22 lAs G the Work to he completed by the 9th December, ISG9, or a penalty of ten shillings per day to be enforced ; they bad however grante d Mr. Con new an extension of tine, so that the timber might be properly seasoned before being used, which was approved. The Secretary was instructed to draw the Resident Surgeon’s attention to Rule seventeen. A vote of thanks to the Chairman concluded the meeting.
