appointment of a resident eh rgyman for the Dunitan District; it was in the end concluded to communicate with his Lordship on the subject. is Lordship said he would he again visiting Otago in about October, when he would be most happy to visit the District.
It is our pahiful duty to record the sudden death of Mr. John Duley of Alexandra, which occurred on Saturday afternoon last in the store of
Messrs Finlay and Morris, whilst con versing with a few acquaintances. It appears that Mr. Foley had been foxsome time past uydcr the cha”ge of Dr. Lord for some internal complaint, but his sudden decease was not expected or looked for by anyone. The funeral took place on Tuesday after noon last, ami about one hundred and fifty- followed the x-emains to the cemetery..
