DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.

(TO THE EDITOR OF THE DUNSTAN TIMES.) Sir,-Would you favor me with the insertion of the following particulars respecting the late meeting of the Committee of the Dunstan District Hospital, called to receive the report of the Sub-Committee, relative to the large consumption of articles used in that Institution during the past month, and to enquire into the suspension of the matron. Relative to the large consumption complained of, the Sub-Com-mittee thinking that theirlate wardsman. who acted as storeman, could throw some light on the subject, desired their Secretary to write and invite my attendance. I explained that it would put me to great inconvenience and expense, hut, if deemed necessary) I would willingly appear, and subject myself to any examination that the Committcfe might deem necessary, and hopes were hold out to me, that in all probability the Committee would allow mete give an

explanation, as to the reason of my late resignation, not with an idea of re-appoint, ment, but in simple jut sice to myself, to silence reports that were in circulation. With regal'd to the extravagance complained of, I was willing to submit myself an 1 wife to the most inquire, and could have brought forward such evidence that would have shewn that acomplaint was laid and inquiry sought for as far back as the Ilth of the past month, but was refused by the Visiting Committee, and, in endeavouring to force this issue, I necessarily came in contact with the Resident Surgeon, and hence the resignation. All I have ever asked for myself and wife, has been simple justice, and for the Committee to send me such a written request as before mentioned, and then to repudiate such action was unpardonable. Trusting, Mr, Editor, that I have no trespassed too much upon your space, having been as brief as the subject would allow. I have the honor to remain, Sir, Your obedient Servant, THOS. STANBROOK, Late wardsman to the Dunstan District Hospital, Clyde, April 14,1809.
