DIOCESAN SYNOD. Nomination of Lay Representatives of the United Church of England and Ireland in New Zealand to serve in the First Synod of the Diocese of Dunedin, to be held at Dunedin on 7th April, 1869. T Hereby give notice that I am pre--1 pared to receive from the Electors of the District of Dunstan the nomination of persons duly qualified for the representation of the said district in the first Synod of the Diocese of Dunedin. The nomination must be made in writing, and be signed by the elector, according to the following form, and be delivered at my residence, Clyde, at any reasonable time of the day, on or before the 16th day of March hist. Form of Nomination Paper. “I hereby declare that I am a member of the Church of England and Ireland in New Zealand, and a resident in the district of Dunstan, and I nominate to serve as the representative of Dunstan in the First Synod of the Diocese of Dunedin. “Dated 1869. [Signature.] “ N.B The elector should be careful tp ascertain that the person nominated by him is a communicant, of 21 years or upwards, and that he has signed the declaration of Church Membership. Qualifications. The following are the qualifications fixed by the General Synod for electors and lay representatives : “Electors.—Every layman of the age ot 21 years and upwards, who shall have signed a declaration in the 10l lowing form, viz.; ‘l, do hereby dec'are that I am a Member of the United Church of England and Ireland in New Zealand. ’ is qualified to vote at the election of Lay Representatives for ! he district in which he resides. “Lay Representatives or Synodsmen. Every layman, being a communicant, of tho age of 2 years or upwards, and who shall have signed a declaration of Church membership in the above form, is qualified to be elected as a representative for any district in the diocese.” Cromwell D strict Races.
