ROEBH CK isa bay horse, four years of age, hy Tow ton, out of Miss Rowe, by Sir Hercules, clam Miss Millar, by Young Wanderer. Sir Hercules by Cap-a-Pie, out of Paraguay. TOWTON (own brother to the Peer) by Melbourne, dam Cinizelli. by Touchstone (vide English Stud Rook), imported to New Zealand in 1858. Marchioness, an own sister to Tow ton and dam of Fishook, won the Oaks in 1855, and the Marquis, a son of Cinizelli, by Stockwell, won the Two Thousand Guineas in 1862 ; ran second for the Derby, for which he was first favorite ; and won the St. Ledger.
Good grazing paddocks provided for mares, and every care taken, hut no responsibility. One mare out of every five given in to bona-fide owners. Terms, Five Guineas, groomage included. HIGH LANDER was bred by the well-known breeder, John Menzies, Esq , of Donnybrook, Victoria. lie is by Prince Charley (imported by tho Messrs. MTntosh) ; dam, Kate, by Grey Champion ; grand dam by Duncan Gray. Prince Charley, having proved himself the premier sire of Victoria, needs no comment.
Kate was a first-class mare, fired in Tasmania, She took a second prize in Melbourne as a brood mare, and five first prizes in Kilmore. Grey Champion and Duncan Gray were the sires of the best stock ever fired in Tasmania. Highlander is now six years old, He was shown at Kilmore, and got the second prize—a two-year-old ; and as a three-year-old got the third prize at the National Show, Melbourne. He took several other prizes through thcdistrict when travelling. He is a sure foal-getter, and his stock is equal to any fired from any other horse in the colony of Victoria.
