Sir, —Having occasion to telegraph to Cromwell on Monday last, I handed to the Onerator here a message at half oast 11 o’clock, a.ra., at the time asking him if the line was c car, ho answered it was, and promised to send the message at once. Not receiving an answer hy 7 o’clock, p.m., I , waited on him, and asked if the message had been forwarded ; to my astonishment, 1 he coolv answers. No, I could not hdp it. Now Sir, after receiving, cash for the mes- : sage, and promising to sci it at one*-. I think it won I not have ir.convcni need him much, in this busy town cf onrs, to have a vise 1 me that he was unable to get it away, hut it seems to me that ho has n. t the courtesy of his predecessor.
