MAIDEN PLATE, Of 50 So vs, for all horses that have never won an advertised prize, matches and hack races excepted. Weight for age. Entrance £3 t 3s. Distance one mile and a hall. DISTRICT HANDICAP. Of 75 Sovs,, with a Sweepstake, of 2 Sovs. each. The second horse to re-, ceive amount accruing from the sweepstakes. Nominations, with £2 2s. enclosed, to be received by the Secretary before 9 p.m. on the 28th December, ISOS. The weights to be declared in the “ Dunstan Times on the Bth of January. 1869, and in the “Otago Daily Times” on the 11th of January. Acceptance, with £2 25., together with sweepstake (£2), enclosed, to be received by the Secretary before 8 p.m. on the 3rd of February, 18G9. Distance two miles. HANDICAP HURDLE RACE Of 50 Sovs. One mile and a half heats, over five flights of hurdles each heat. Nominations, with £2 25., and acceptances, with £2 25., to be received, also declation of weights to be made, on same dates and in same manner as in the District handicap. TOWN PLATE. Of 150 Sovs., for all horses. Second horse to receive £lO out of the stakes. Entrance £7 7s. Weight for age. Distance two and a half miles. HACK SELLING RACE Of 20 Sovs. No weight loss than 10st. One mile heats. The winner to bo sold by public auction for £2O, and the surplus (if any) to go to the race fund. Post entry, £1 Is. SECOND DAY. MINERS’ & PACKERS’ PURSE Of 20 Sovs., for all untrained horses that have never won a prize of £2O. No weight under lOst. Three-quarters of a mile heats Post entry, £1 Is. DUNSTAN JOCKEY CLUB HANDICAP Of 125 Sovs., with a sweepstake of 5 Sovs. each. The second horse to receive the amount accruing from the sweepstakes. Nominations, with £2 25., and acceptances, with £3 35., together with sweepstake (£5), to be received also declaration of weights to be made on same dates and in same manner as in District Handicap, The winner of the Town Plate to carry 51b. penalty. Distance two and a quarter miles. HANDICAP SPEEPLECHASE Of 100 Sovs. Nominations, with £3 35., and acceptances, with £4 45., to be received, also declaration of weights to be made, on same, dates and in same manner as in District Handicap. Distance about four miles (no waterjump). LADIES’ PURSE Of 30 Sovs. Dunstan Jockey Club welter-weights for age. Gentlemen riders. Entrance £3 3s. Distance one mile and a half. CONSOLATION HANDICAP Of 30 Sovs., for all beaten horses. Post entry, £1 Is Distance one mile and a half. RULES AND REGULATIONS. Nominations for the District Handicap, Hurdle Race, Dunstan Jockey Club Handicap, and Steeplechase, bearing post-mark of the 28th of December, 1868, will he received until 8 p. m. on the Gth January, 1869. Mares and Geldings allowed 31b. No entries will be received for any of the above races except upon this condition : That all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall ho decided by the Stewards, or whom they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of the programme shall be final. No person shall be allowed to enter or run a horse for any race in this programme (Post entry races excepted) unless the latter be qualified as the bona-fide property of a subscriber of not less than £3 3s. to the race fund. Entries to be received by the Secretary, at his office, Sunderland Street, Clyde, before 8 p.w. on 3rd February, 1869, entrance money enclosed, with name, ago, and pedigree (if any) of the horse, name of the owner, anti color of the rider. Any jockey riding except in the colors entered, will he fined £2. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross amount of all stakes for expenses. Horses walking over, will receive 50 per cent of the stakes. The Dunstan Jockey Club Rules will ho strictly enforced. N.B.
