Hurdle Race.—Sweepstakes of 10s, each, with £lO added, open to all horses that have never won an advertised hurdle race. Distance three-quaters of a mile, over three flight” of hurdles. FOURTH RACE. 10s. entry. Purse of 5 Sots. Open to horses the bona fide property, for one month previous to day of race of owner residing in Black’s within a radius,of three miles. Once round the course, weights not less than lOst. FIFTH RACE. Consolation Stakes —lDs. sweepstake with 5 Fovs. added. Open to all beaten horses. Once round the ' course. All winners at Dunstan, Cromwell, 1 and Manuhcrikia Spring Meetings will be allowed to run, subject to a penalty of 7lbs. extra weight. All events post entry. He is by Prince Charley (imported by tho Messrs. MTntosh) ; dam, Kate, by I Grey Champion ; grand dam by Duu- ; can Gray. Prince Charley, having proved himself the premier sire ,of Victoria, ; needs no comment. Kate was a first-class mare, bred in Tasmania, She took a second prize in Melbourne as a brood mare, and five first prizes in Kilmorfi. Grey Champion and Duncan Gray were the sires of the best stock ever bred in Tasmania, •• • Highlander is now six years old, ■ He was shown at Kilmdre,. and got f the second prize—a two-year-old ; and , as a throe-year-old got the third prize at the National Show, Melbourne. He took several other prizes through the district when traveling. He is a sura foil-getter, and hia stock 5a equal to any bred from any other horse in the colony 1 of Victoria. ACES.
