PROVISIONAL DIRECTORS. W. FRASER, Esq., M.P.C. J. D. FERADD, Esq., J.P. -JAMES HAZLETT, Esq, D. M'CONNOCHIE, Esq. H. J. COPE, Esq, C. ZIELE, Esq. * (With power to add to their number.) •Bankers—The Bank of New Zealand. Treasurer—H. C. Jones, Esq. Interim Hon. Sec.—A. D. Harvey, Esq. F having long been felt by the in--I- habitants of the District, that the erection and establishment of a Flour Mill would prove of the utmost utility aiubservice,' hitherto however Capitalists and others were deterred from embarking in the enterprise, owing principally to the small quantity of land not only actually taken up for Agricultural purposes, but from the fact of the limited area thrown open by the Government for selection. But these drawbacks no longer exist, as a ■ considerable quantity of land is now' under cultivation, which is rapidly being increased,, while in addition as much as 10,000 acres has been lately laid off for agricultural purposes by the Government, and it is confidently ■expected that 5,000 acres more will ■shortly be added. From the foregoing and other reasons, the projectors of this enterprise are of opinion that the time has now -arrived, when the proposition for the erection of a Flour Mill can with confidence be brought before the Public for consideration, especially when at this season, the want is deeply felt, while on the other hand, the undeniable success that has attended the Mill erected in a neighbouring District, offers a bright example, and gives such encouragement as to permit an indulgence in the hope of expecting a similar result here, which the importance •of the District justly deserves. The motive power will bo water, a plentiful supply being available from three distinct sources, the choice to be the subject of future deliberations; due consideration being given to economy, supply, fall, &c. The site of the Mill, also, and other matters of detail to be left for after determination by the Company or their Directors. As soon as 100 Shares are allotted, a General Meeting of Shareholders will be convened, when a Board of Directors and a Manager will be appointed. Form of Application for Shares. To A. D.
