DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL

The usual monthly meeting of the Committee of the Dunstan District Hospital was held in the Council Chambers, on Thursday evening, the 7th inst. Present, H. W. Robinson, (President) &nd Messrs M'Pherson, M'Connochie, Christophers, (Treasurer) Grindley, Hueston, Beck, Hastie, Spensley, Fache, andß. Barlow, (Secretary). The minutes of the last'meeting were'read and confirmed. The inward and outward correspondence was read and received. The report of the Visiting Committee was read and received. The report stated that the bath and store room had been erected. That the internal arrangements of the Institution was satisfactory, and that the average number of patients for the month had been eighteen. The House Surgeon's report was read and received. The Finance Committee's report, recommending the payment of accounts for Salaries &c. amounting to £IBB 18s 10d was adopted. The Treasurer's report showed a balance in hand of £122 ISs 4d. and £lllß 16s lOd due on account of Government Subsidy. The Secretary was instructed to take steps towards the formation of Local committees at Alexandra and Cromwell, also to communicate with the Local committees already -established respecting the funds they may have on hand. Proposed bv Mr. M'Connochie, seconded by Mr. Grindley. " Thatthe Secretary be instructed to write to the House Surgeon requesting him not to admit any patient unless the recommendation form is duly signed by the Treasurer, except such cases as require no recommendation. Carried. Proposed by Mr Christophers, seconded by Mr. Hastie, That the Visiting Committee be requested to prepare a Specification of all articles required for the use of the Hospital; the same to be handed to the Secretary for the guidance of the Tenders. Carried. The retiring committee were re-elected, The sub-committee appointed to revise the Rules of the Institution laid their report on the table. Proposed by Mr. Grindley, and second el by Mr. Hueston,— That the report be ■considered on Thursday, the 21st inst. awl that this meeting stand adjourned till that day. Carried. A vote of thanks to the Chair, concluded : the proceedings.
